With his latest film, Mommy, another critical darling, Xavier Dolan has his sights set on his next project, with the cast announced for his new film Only the End of the World (Juste La Fin Du Monde).
Seville Pictures has announced the stunning cast list for the film, which includes Oscar winner Marion Cotillard (Two Days, One Night), Lea Seydoux (Blue Is The Warmest Color), Vincent Cassel (Black Swan), Nathalie Baye (Tell No One) and Gaspard Ulliel (Hannibal Rising).
Word on the grapevine has Dolan’s next film as The Death and Life of John F. Donovan, which was to star Jessica Chastain (A Most Violent Year), but it seems that project is on the backburner for now. Only the End of the World is apparently inspired by a Jean-Luc Lagarce play that tells the story of writer who, after a 12-year stint away, returns home to tell his family of his impending death.
Dolan is set to put the film into production at the end of May, before he moves onto the aforementioned John F. Donovan. Dolan is also a judge at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
