Shaun of the Dead with journalist and podcaster Sophie Davies | The Pick of the Flicks Podcast #93

August 26, 2020 by Tom Beasley

On The Pick of the Flicks Podcast, a different guest drops in every week to chat about their favourite film. This week, TV journalist and podcaster Sophie Davies chats about Edgar Wright’s rom-zom-com Shaun of the Dead…

On this week’s episode of The Pick of the Flicks Podcast, the journalist and podcaster Sophie Davies discusses the noughties comedy classic Shaun of the Dead. The first film of the Cornetto Trilogy is a blood-soaked zombie movie with an ultra-smart script and great performances from Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. We chat about Wright’s unique filmmaking style, the myriad horror references peppered through the movie and the difference between British and American comedy.
