Sony wants Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart for Jumanji reboot

April 17, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Having brought forward the release date of its planned Jumanji reboot from December 2017 to July 2017, it looks like Sony and director Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher) may have identified its leading men for the new adaptation of Chris Van Allsburg’s 1981 adventure book.

According to Variety, the studio is looking to bring in Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, who recently co-hosted the MTV Movie Awards, and are paired up for the action comedy Central Intelligence, which is set to arrive on June 17th.

Both actors are extremely busy, but Sony is hoping that it could shoot Jumanji before the third season of Johnson’s comedy series Ballers, although Hart has recently committed to a remake of The Intouchables, which could prove to be a stumbling block in bringing the pair together.

Are you excited about the prospect of a Jumanji reboot with Johnson and Hart? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
