Willa Holland says the plan was for her to become Speedy by the end of season one of Arrow

October 13, 2015 by admin

Willa Holland’s Thea Queen is the latest character from Arrow to join Team Arrow as the iconic character Speedy. Although Holland told us at London Comic Con that she didn’t know anything about the show’s future, she apparently knew this was the plan all along! But she’s glad the writers on the show took their time with the story.

“When I signed on for the show, the evolution was coming a lot earlier in the beginning. But the time and trajectory we’ve taken with it and the build for a true reason for her to come to this place has actually been a little bit better for me because it would have been an injustice to just throw her into a suit at the end of season one or two without any, like, putting her through any tests. So from the beginning we totally knew this was going to happen, but it was waiting for it to be done right and it has been. So it’s been quite nice.”

“The first time you see Speedy in season four is on the back of a motorcycle having a bunch of fun with Laurel,” Holland adds at the start of the interview. “It’s awesome! We’re just two badass ladies just proving what women can do.”
