Capcom celebrates 20th anniversary of Resident Evil 3 with remake announcement and trailer

December 10, 2019 by Andrew Newton

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the classic survival horror Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Capcom has revealed they will be bringing a re-imagined version of the game to Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Steam on 3rd April 2020.  Following on from the award-winning Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 will complete the Raccoon City story arc.

Jill Valentine, one of the most iconic heroines in video gaming history, takes the helm in Resident Evil 3 as she escapes from the crumbling remains of Raccoon City while being pursued by the relentless Nemesis bioweapon.  Resident Evil 3 saw the debut appearance of Nemesis and his dogged pursuit of S.T.A.R.S. member, particularly Jill.  Nemesis was armed with an array of high-powered weaponry all of which will carry over into this beautifully created remake using Capcom’s very own RE Engine.

Resident Evil 3’s action packed gameplay will also be complemented with an asymmetrical 4 vs. 1 multiplayer game called Resident Evil Resistance.  this will see players take the role of key Resident Evil characters such as Annette Birkin in a series of deadly experiments where they can manipulate the environment and place creatures, traps and directly control elite bioweapons like G-Birkin and Tyrant.  The other four players take the role of survivors who must work together to ensure their escape before the experiment runs out of time.

Those who pre-order Resident Evil 3 will also receive the exclusive Classic Costume Pack that features the original design for Jill Valentine.

Look out for Nemesis coming to PC and consoles next April.
