It will be “a very long time” before the X-Men appear in the MCU, states Marvel’s Kevin Feige

April 9, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Kevin Feige has revealed that it will be a “long time” before we see the X-Men debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Now that Disney/Fox deal has finally come through, many a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is rejoicing at the prospect of seeing the X-Men and other associated characters like Deadpool make an appearance.

Unfortunately, fans are going to have wait quite some time before this happens. This is according to Marvel boss Kevin Feige, who spoke to io9 about when the X-Men might show up in the MCU:

“It’ll be a while. It’s all just beginning and the five-year plan that we’ve been working on, we were working on before any of that was set. So really it’s much more, for us, less about specifics of when and where [the X-Men will appear] right now and more just the comfort factor and how nice it is that they’re home. That they’re all back. But it will be a very long time.”

While this is surely not news X-Men fans want to hear, perhaps its better to introduce these characters at the right time, rather than rush them in instantly and not do the X-Men or their stories justice.
