Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’s new First Order Jet Trooper revealed

August 25, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Yesterday at the D23 Expo, Walt Disney Pictures showcased a number of its big upcoming releases, including of course the closing chapter of the Skywalker Saga, December’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Although we have to wait until Monday for the official release of the D23 behind-the-scenes sizzle reel, Lucasfilm did drop a new poster for the film teasing the return of Emperor Palpatine, while a display on the convention floor also featured our first real look at one of the new First Order Stormtrooper classes, the Jet Trooper.

The First Order Jet Trooper is described as follows: “Specialized Stormtroopers of the First Order, Jet Troopers soar into battle equipped with agile rocket packs.” They are one of two new Stormtroopers we’ll meet in The Rise of Skywalker, the other being the Sith Trooper.
