DC announces Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight III: The Master Race

April 24, 2015 by Gary Collinson

DC Entertainment has announced that Frank Miller is set to pen the concluding chapter to his Dark Knight Returns saga with an eight-issue comic book series entitled The Dark Knight III: The Master Race.

The follow-up to the seminal Batman: The Dark Knight Returns and its sequel Batman: The Dark Knight Strikes Again will see Miller joined by writer Brian Azzarello, and is slated for publication in the fall, marking the 30th anniversary of the opening chapter.

“Batman remains my favorite comic book hero and a sequel to Dark Knight is going to be daunting, but we’ll do our best,” said Miller, with Azzarello adding that: “It’s been an amazing experience collaborating with Frank these past six months. I think we have an epic story that these characters truly deserve.”

“We are thrilled to have Frank back home at DC writing Batman,” state Dan DiDio and Jim Lee, Co-Publishers for DC Entertainment. “The story he and Brian have crafted is an astounding and triumphant conclusion to this seminal body of work which influenced and shaped generations of readers and creators alike.”

Are you looking forward to Miller’s return to the Dark Knight Returns universe?
