New video for post-apocalyptic survival game City 20 shows how all actions have consequences

August 8, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Untold Games have released a new showcase video for its upcoming post-apocalyptic survival sandbox game City 20. This new video, featuring Nicholas Di Valerio, the game’s narrative designer, shows off the games highly-reactive and procedural Social Tension system.  You can watch this new video below…

City 20 features a Social Tension system that monitors the player’s interactions with NPCs and ensures that all actions have consequences.  This ensures a dynamic story for players to enjoy and one that is unique with every playthrough.

Coinciding with this news, the City 20 demo on Steam has been updated and is now available for the first time on the Epic Games Store.  This updated demo includes the new Social Tension System, an overhauled lighting system, a working water system, increased NPC behaviours and player interactions and more.

City 20 is a dystopian life survival simulator set in a post-apocalyptic settlement that has been sealed off from the outside world.  Players will need to ensure their own survival by navigating the harsh environment, making difficult societal decisions and interacting with organised factions.

Features include:

  • Each inhabitant of the settlement has their own motivations and relationships and the player’s reputation will depend on how they interact with these people.
  • A reactive environment that will adapt to the actions of the players. Hunt too many rabbits and predators may come hunting in the city for an alternative food source.
  • Manage the resources available in order to stay alive. Every decision can mean the difference between life and death.

City 20 will be releasing in Early Access later this year, in the meantime head on over to Steam or the Epic Games Store and download the playable demo.
