World of Tanks Blitz and World of Tanks PC celebrate the Lunar New Year

February 11, 2021 by Andrew Newton

This week sees the start of the Lunar New Year celebrations on both World of Tanks PC and World of Tanks Blitz as Wargaming announce two unique themed events to mark the occasion.  The celebrations begin today on World of Tanks Blitz while PC players will see their special event begin on Friday.  Watch the new videos for these events below…

The Lunar Rising event on World of Tanks Blitz runs from today until 19th February and is made up of 9 stages.  Players need to just win one battle a day to be able to get all the rewards, including themed items such as  the Red Lantern, Red Envelope, Mystic Knot and Lunar Ox.  This event will also give tank commanders the chance to get their hands on the never before seen camouflage, Unexpectable.

Blitz players will also be able to take part in the Lunar New Year-themed Operation Lichun throughout February.  Completing this operation will give access to a range of rewards such as special camos, while those players with the Premium pass will get even more rewards plus the brand new Tier VI Chinese medium tank, the Ox.

World of Tanks commanders on PC will be able to take part in the Lunar Challenge event, running from 12th February through to 22nd February.  This event will feature 10 stages filled with rewards, and there are two ways in which these stages can be completed with missions for commitment (taking place in Tier VI-X vehicles) and more challenging missions for mastery (for the most skilled of tank commanders who like to just use Tiers IX and X).

Tankers skilled enough to complete all 10 stages will be rewarded with the brand-new 122 TM, the Ox, plus a unique Lunar New Year 2D style that can be used on any vehicle in the player’s garage.  Those who already have the 122 MT can complete daily missions to earn the 3D style exclusively for the Chinese medium.

Start battling now in World of Tanks Blitz and from Friday in World of Tanks PC and start earning that new tank.
