New images from Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Pacific Rim: Uprising trailer, Shazam casting and more – Daily News Roundup

NEW JEDI IMAGES

We’ve posted a few new images from Star Wars: The Last Jedi yesterday [see here], and then we got a brand new look at the film’s mysterious villain Supreme Leader Snoke thanks to a Topps trading card, along with a new shot of Luke Skywalker. Check them out here.

DRACULA: ORIGINS

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but Paramount are developing a prequel movie to Dracula. This time the film is being worked on by It director Andy Muschietti. Variety – who broke the story – describes the story as: “set in 1868, where a 21-year-old Bram Stoker meets with an evil that he traps in an ancient tower.” Read more here.

UPRISING TRAILER

The much-anticipated sequel to Pacific Rim – Pacific Rim: Uprising – could have its first trailer shown at New York Comic Con during a special panel on Friday, October 6th 2017. Director of the film Steven DeKnight and star John Boyega will be making appearances. Read more here.

MUTT OFF

Perhaps the least-liked thing about Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull – apart from the fridge being nuked, the aliens, the swinging monkeys, the awful dialogue, etc – was Shia LaBeouf’s Indy Jr. aka Mutt. Well, according to screenwriter David Koepp, Mutt won’t be coming back for Indy 5. “Harrison plays Indiana Jones, that I can certainly say…  and the Shia LaBeouf character is not in the film,” said Koepp. Read more here.

SHAZAM CASTING

According to The Hashtag Show – who don’t have the greatest track record of scoops – both WWE star John Cena (Daddy’s Home) and Joshua Sasse (Galavant) are “tentatively the front runners” for the role of Shazam, while a third “dark horse contender” has apparently fallen out of favour. They also claim to have the film’s synopsis, which you can read here.

ALADDIN BEGINS

Production is underway on Disney’s live-action version of Aladdin, with Will Smith posting a cast photo alongside his co-stars Mena Massoud (Aladdin), Naomi Scott (Princess Jasmine) and Marwan Kenzari (Jafar). Check it out here.

INTERVIEW OF THE DAY
