PixArk coming to Early Access and Xbox Game Preview this March

January 27, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Snail Games have announced that their voxel based open world sandbox survival game PixArk will be arriving on Steam Early Access and Xbox Games Preview this March.  Based on the hit game Ark: Survival Evolved, PixArk will see a different take on being stranded on an island with dinosaurs and other creatures.  The game is expected for full release on Xbox One, PC, Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch later this year.

In PixArk players are forced to survive on a mysterious island where dinosaurs, wild animals and other hostile creatures live.  Those stranded on this island will need to hunt, craft items, grow crops and build shelters for protection.  The creatures on the island can be tamed and used for defence or travel.

This voxel based sandbox survival features:

  • Single player and online multiplayer.
  • Craft items and build bases.
  • Over 100 dinosaurs and other creatures to tame, train, ride or just kill.
  • Character progression.
  • Procedurally generated worlds.
  • Creative Mode allowing players to create whatever they can imagine.
  • Over eight unique biomes to explore.
  • Procedurally generated quest system.

“With PixARK, we’ve taken the action and excitement that older players know and love in ARK to a new direction in order to introduce that world to an entirely different audience,” said Peter Kang, director of live operations and business development, Snail Games. “PixARK is a fun, colourful game that introduces players of all ages to ARK while adding creative building modes and a clever pick-up-and-play experience.”

PixArk will arrive on Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview in March.
