September 7, 2019 by Amie Cranswick

Deadline has revealed that Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Mary Magdalene) has become the latest addition to the cast of Guillermo del Toro’s next directorial effort Nightmare Alley.

The film will reunite Mara with her Carol co-star Cate Blanchett and also stars Bradley Cooper (A Star Is Born). Cooper plays Stan, a corrupt con-man who teams with Blanchett’s female psychiatrist to con people with their mentalist act, while Mara will play Stan’s girlfriend Molly.
