WarnerMedia concludes Justice League investigation into Ray Fisher’s claims, has taken “remedial action”

December 12, 2020 by EJ Moreno

In July of this year, actor Ray Fisher took to Twitter and alleged that Joss Whedon was abusive on the set of Justice League reshoots. WarnerMedia opened an investigation into the claims, but since then, it’s been a rough battle. In September, Warner Bros. released a statement claiming Fisher was not cooperating with the third-party investigators – a claim that the Cyborg actor then denied in a statement of his own.

Now, as the year comes a close, so does this chapter in the saga as WarnerMedia has announced that it has concluded the investigation into Fisher’s allegations.

In a surprise move on Friday night, WarnerMedia offered a simple statement that its “investigation into the Justice League movie has concluded and remedial action has been taken.” When pressed by Variety, the trade reports that WarnerMedia offered up no further comment to what they meant by “remedial action.”

Ray Fisher took to Twitter to offer some insight into the situation from his perspective, stating that:

“The following was relayed to me on behalf of WarnerMedia at 5pm EST today: The investigation of Justice League is now complete. It has lead to remedial action. (Some we’ve seen, and some that is still to come.) And this statement (which truly belongs to ALL who participated in the investigation): ‘WarnerMedia appreciates you having the courage to come forward and assist the company with creating an inclusive and equitable work environment for its employees and partners.’ There are still conversations that need to be had and resolutions that need to be found. Thank you all for your support and encouragement on this journey. We are on our way. More soon.”

Whedon recently exited the upcoming HBO series The Nevers, with many – including Fisher – speculating that this may have been a result of WarnerMedia’s investigation. As of yet though, there has been no confirmation that this was part of any “remedial action”.

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes-Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, and The Flash-it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder and features Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Robin Wright as General Antiope, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard as Mera, Ciaran Hinds as Steppenwolf, Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke, Jared Leto as The Joker and Ray Porter as Darkseid.
