Sonic the Hedgehog movie moving forward, Bob’s Burgers movie announced, Heroes For Hire heading to Netflix and more – Daily News Roundup

October 5, 2017 by admin

HE’S THE FASTEST THING ALIVE

The live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie has been in development over at Sony for a few years now, but it was announced recently that the project has now moved to Paramount, with Deadpool‘s Tim Miller in the producer’s seat. It isn’t the first attempt to bring the fastest thing alive to the big screen, but this will likely be the first successful big screen adaptation. Read more here.

UPRISING

Blockbuster sequel Pacific Rim: Uprising will be getting its first trailer over New York Comic Con, and the official synopsis was released yesterday. Read it here.

BOB’S BURGERS: THE MOVIE

One of the best animated shows in recent memory is getting the big screen treatment in 2020, with  20th Century Fox announcing the the series will be getting a feature film. “We’re thrilled to be invited to bring Bob’s Burgers to the big screen,” series creator Loren Bouchard. “We want to thank Stacey and everyone at 20th Century Fox Film and Gary and Dana at FTG (Fox Television Group) for being such great supporters. We know the movie has to scratch every itch the fans of the show have ever had, but it also has to work for all the good people who’ve never seen the show.” Read more here.

THE LEAGUE DISCUSSES WHEDON

The cast of Justice League have spoken with Empire about the departure of Zack Snyder, who was replaced with The Avengers director Joss Whedon. “I didn’t sense that we were moving towards something that felt like The Avengers,” said Ben Affleck. “Joss is more than just an Avengers director. He’s a good storyteller, full stop. In mid-stream, Joss got on and part of what interested him was the puzzle aspect of it, fitting in pieces that weren’t there yet. He put the rest of the pieces in and gave it his own imprimatur. Joss came in and walked a very fine line between Zack’s sensibility, tone, and direction. We found a really fun and inspiring synthesis of their two forms of storytelling. I was so glad everyone showed up to work for Zack.” Read more thoughts here.

HEROES FOR HIRE

It looks like Power Man won’t be the only Defender in the second season of Luke Cage, as Entertainment Weekly has unveiled a first-look image revealing that Finn Jones’ Iron Fist is set to feature in the series when it arrives on Netflix next year. Check it out here.

FAIR

Well, this is a bit of a turnaround. In his interviews with Empire, Ben Affleck spoke about the critical backlash to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice by calling it “fair”. “I can understand people saying [Batman v Superman] was too dark, or this was outside the tone of what I’m used to seeing with a Batman story, and I think that’s a fair criticism.” Read more here.
