…Power Rangers and Stranger Things star Dacre Montgomery sparked speculation that he may have been cast as Dick Grayson in the upcoming Nightwing movie by sharing (and quickly removing) an image of the former Boy Wonder to social media. However, Nightwing director Chris McKay subsequently took to Twitter to reveal that the casting search is yet to begin, as well as stating that he hopes that the film will begin pre-production in 2018, if the script is “crazy great”…

…Turning to the small screen and it has been announced this week that Jesse Rath (Defiance) has been cast in the third season of Supergirl in the recurring role of Brainiac 5, a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes, and a potential love interest for Melissa Benoist’s Girl of Steel. Meanwhile, you can read Martin Carr’s review of this past Monday’s Supergirl episode ‘Damage’ here, and we also have a trailer, promo and images for Monday’s upcoming sixth episode ‘Midvale’ [see here and here]…

…In other Arrowverse news, Wentworth Miller has announced that we’ve almost seen the last of his Leonard Snart/Captain Cold, as he is about to shoot his final episodes of The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Meanwhile, The CW also released a brief promo for its four-show crossover event ‘Crisis on Earth-X’ [watch it here], along with a synopsis which reads: “Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris’s (Candice Patton) wedding brings the gang together, but things go awry when villains from Earth-X attack the ceremony. All of the superheroes band together with help from their super friends like Citizen Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller), The Ray (guest star Russell Tovey), Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), Iris West and Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) to take on their most formidable villains yet. Earth’s mightiest heroes – Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), The Flash (Grant Gustin) and White Canary (Caity Lotz) – lead their teams into battle to save the world…”

…Over at Fox and you can read Martin Carr’s review of Gotham’s eighth episode ‘Stop Hitting Yourself’ here, and take a look at a promo for the upcoming ninth episode of ‘Let Them Eat Pie’, which we have for you here…

…Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and The Orville star Adrianne Palicki has been reflecting on her 2011 Wonder Woman pilot, admitting that she was “devastated” that it didn’t make it to series: “We were a year or two too soon. It was right before the main pop of Marvel movies and television series. The movies [had started coming] out, but it wasn’t like [today, where] that’s what makes money now — that’s what people want to see. It was a little too soon, it was a little early. “I was devastated for a while after, I’m not going to lie. But I got to paid to wear that costume! It was fun, and also I wouldn’t have been able to do this [Orville] role if I was playing Wonder Woman, so I’m thankful for all these things…”

…As part of his ‘Countdown to Justice League‘ series, Ricky Church has revisited Smallville’s season six episode ‘Justice’. Read his article here…

…Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for the DC Universe Animated Original Movie Batman: Gotham By Gaslight, the upcoming adaptation of Brian Augustyn and Mike Mignola’s classic 1989 one-shot, which is set for release early in 2018. Watch the trailer here…

…Thor: Ragnarok made its way across the Pond last weekend, performing ahead of expectations with a domestic opening weekend of $121 million, which also pushed the Marvel Cinematic Universe beyond the $5 billion mark in North America, and $13 billion worldwide. It has since went on to break the $500 million mark – the fourteenth MCU film to pass the half-billion mark globally, and the twelfth consecutive film to do so – and could well surpass Thor: The Dark World’s $644.6 million this weekend to become the highest-grossing Thor movie…

…Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi and Eric Pearson have been discussing the film’s ending and post-credits scenes [read their comments here], while Waititi has revealed that he originally wanted to include a flashback to an 80s-style Asgard featuring a fat little Thor and a goth Loki [read more here], as well as discussing several deleted scenes and an alternate post-credits sequence [read more here].
